Violet Ambrose is grappling with two major issues: Jay Heaton and her morbid secret ability. While the sixteen-year-old is confused by her new feelings for her best friend since childhood, she is more disturbed by her "power" to sense dead bodies—or at least those that have been murdered. Since she was a little girl, she has felt the echoes that the dead leave behind in the world... and the imprints that attach to their killers.

Violet has never considered her strange talent to be a gift; it mostly just led her to find the dead birds her cat had tired of playing with. But now that a serial killer has begun terrorizing her small town, and the echoes of the local girls he's claimed haunt her daily, she realizes she might be the only person who can stop him.

Despite his fierce protectiveness over her, Jay reluctantly agrees to help Violet on her quest to find the murderer—and Violet is unnerved to find herself hoping that Jay's intentions are much more than friendly. But even as she's falling intensely in love, Violet is getting closer and closer to discovering a killer... and becoming his prey herself.

The first thing about this book was the cover. I think it's beautiful.
Violet has a special "power".She can sense the dead, especielly the ones who were murdered. When she was 8 years old, she found her first human body. Then 8 years later she finds another one.She starts to help the investigation, but because of that she finds herself against the murderer.
She has other problems too. She starts to have feelings for her best friend,Jay.

I loved the whole story, because it's different than the YA stories these days. Also the romance in this book is so sweet...I'd like to have a boyfriend like Jay.The other characters are sympathic and funny too. I just love Chelsea.:D

"I swear that boy can't function without you, not even at lunch."
"I've been so worried about strange men following you around that I forgot how dangerous Homecoming Queens can be."

Violet can sense the echoes of those who've been murdered—and the matching imprint that clings to their killers. Only those closest to her know what she is capable of, but when she discovers the body of a young boy she also draws the attention of the FBI, threatening her entire way of life.

As Violet works to keep her morbid ability a secret, she unwittingly becomes the object of a dangerous obsession. Normally she'd turn to her best friend, Jay, except now that they are officially a couple, the rules of their relationship seem to have changed. And with Jay spending more and more time with his new friend Mike, Violet is left with too much time on her hands as she wonders where things went wrong. But when she fills the void by digging into Mike's tragic family history, she stumbles upon a dark truth that could put everyone in danger.

This is the second book from this author. The story starts where the first book ended.Jay and Violet are together, they couldn't be happier.
Then a new family move in to Buckley and strange things start to happen. First Violet finds a new body. Then the FBI starts to follow her.And also someone threats her.She got a special gift and a letter.
Violet suspects that Mike's sister Megan is trying to get Jay and she is the one, who send her messages. She tells that to Jay, but he doesn't believe her. They have a huge fight, they broke up.
Luckily they get together again. She talks with the FBI women, who is actually not from the FBI ,just sort of.
At the end Violet and her friends go for a trip in the mountains(Mike's family has a house there). The only problem is that Violet finds another body and again like in the previous book she finds herself against a murderer.
Also again there are our favorite characters like Chelsea...she's amazing.:D:D

"Chelsea, for the love of everything good and holy, please...please stop ruining my friend."
"I was wrong. I should have never doubted you. I do trust you. I love you, and I can't do this anymore. I don't want to be..." He struggled to find the right words. "...without you." And then, finally, his arms slackened, releasing her, giving her the choice again. She felt his shoulders slump, and his heart shudder. "Please..."

I'm really looking forward to the next book. These two were so exciting.

After Maddy’s parents divorce, she’s stuck starting over at a new high school. Friendless and nicknamed Freak Girl, Manga-loving artist Maddy finds refuge in the interactive online game Fields of Fantasy. In that virtual world, she reinvents herself as Allora, a gorgeous elfin alter ego, and meets a true friend in Sir Leo. Maddy can’t hide behind Allora forever, especially as a real-life crush begins edging in on her budding virtual romance. But would anyone pick the real Maddy, gamer girl and Manga freak, over the fantasy?

This fresh, geeky/cool novel includes online chats and exciting gaming, and features Maddy’s Mangastyle artwork.

Right now I'm totally in love with this book.Maybe because I'm quite similar with the protagonist(Maddy) , maybe because the story is ...charming.I wouldn't say exciting and amazing, but I'm glad that I bought this book.

So Maddy's parents split and she had to move from Boston where she lived. She is really mad.She had to leave her friends, her school even her father. And the new school isn't a dream come true. The first day her grandmother humiliated her in many ways and she finds herself against the biggest bully in the school(Billy).
She had hard time find new friends. But than one day she receive a game (like World of Warcraft) for her birthday and there she meets with a very kind, funny, charming gamer.Eventually she falls in love with him.Meanwhile she enters a manga drawing competition and she starts a manga club in her school. She meets new people and become friends with them. And the one of the most important things is that there is a boy(Chad).Maddy have a crush on him, but he is a friend of Billy. There are some complications with Chad, with the gamer and with her manga book too.
But in the end everyone finds her/his right place. So this book has a very happy ending.:D

[I know this review is a little shorter, but please forgive me(:D).This was my first review on goodreads.]

Sixteen-year-old Maya and seventeen-year-old Lochan have never had the chance to be 'normal' teenagers. Having pulled together for years to take care of their younger siblings while their wayward, drunken mother leaves them to fend alone, they have become much more than brother and sister. And now, they have fallen in love.

But this is a love that can never be allowed, a love that will have devastating consequences . . .

'How can something so wrong feel so right?'

I have to say, that this book had a huge impact on me.First I thought oh my god incest...it couldn't be good. But after a few chapters I couldn't put it down.I was never a fan of brother-sister love, but during this book I could just support and cheer this love.

So there's a family with problems. The mother always leaves for a drink or disappear for a week with her boyfriend. It would be okay, but she has 5 children. Lochan,Maya,Kit,Tiffin and Willa.
Lochan and Maya try to keep together the family. They cook, take their siblings to the school, etc.
But they also have personal problems, like Lochan can't communicate with anybody except his family. He hates to speak. The only person who understands him is Maya. Maya tries to help him, but sometimes it's just impossible.

At some point they start to have different feelings for each other. They struggle to keep up the brother-sister image. They realize that is not right, also it's illegal,so if anybody finds it out than their siblings will be taken to an other family. They try to resist, but they can't, so they keep it as a secret and at night they try to be together. There are secret kisses, glances, nights.

During the book, Lochan and Kit have several fights. But at the end they work it out.But the problem is that Lochan tried to help Kit at the school with a trip and everything went wrong.

Maya and Lochan thought that they will have a relaxing weekend together 'cause Kit will go on a school trip and Willa and Tiffin will visit their aunt.So they done the worse thing that the could done and because of Kit( he got pissed of because of Lochan he couldn't go to the trip) their mom found out their complicated relationship.

I don't want to write too much spoiler so if you want to know the ending than you have to read the book.

One thing I could say is, that it will bring out some tears and you will think about the book for weeks,'cause you can't forget it .

These are one of my favorite quotes from the book:

"You can close your eyes to the things you do not want to see, but you cannot close your heart to the things you do not want to feel."
"There are no laws,no boundaries on feelings. "
"Because at the end of the day that's what we're all trying to do: fit in, one way or another, desperately trying to pretend we're all the same. "
