After Maddy’s parents divorce, she’s stuck starting over at a new high school. Friendless and nicknamed Freak Girl, Manga-loving artist Maddy finds refuge in the interactive online game Fields of Fantasy. In that virtual world, she reinvents herself as Allora, a gorgeous elfin alter ego, and meets a true friend in Sir Leo. Maddy can’t hide behind Allora forever, especially as a real-life crush begins edging in on her budding virtual romance. But would anyone pick the real Maddy, gamer girl and Manga freak, over the fantasy?
This fresh, geeky/cool novel includes online chats and exciting gaming, and features Maddy’s Mangastyle artwork.
Right now I'm totally in love with this book.Maybe because I'm quite similar with the protagonist(Maddy) , maybe because the story is ...charming.I wouldn't say exciting and amazing, but I'm glad that I bought this book.
So Maddy's parents split and she had to move from Boston where she lived. She is really mad.She had to leave her friends, her school even her father. And the new school isn't a dream come true. The first day her grandmother humiliated her in many ways and she finds herself against the biggest bully in the school(Billy).
She had hard time find new friends. But than one day she receive a game (like World of Warcraft) for her birthday and there she meets with a very kind, funny, charming gamer.Eventually she falls in love with him.Meanwhile she enters a manga drawing competition and she starts a manga club in her school. She meets new people and become friends with them. And the one of the most important things is that there is a boy(Chad).Maddy have a crush on him, but he is a friend of Billy. There are some complications with Chad, with the gamer and with her manga book too.
But in the end everyone finds her/his right place. So this book has a very happy ending.:D
[I know this review is a little shorter, but please forgive me(:D).This was my first review on goodreads.]
